About the Mississauga Canoe Club

The MCC is a not for profit organization established in 1958. In that time, the MCC has provided the Mississauga community with high quality canoe and kayak programs for youth and adults. Our clubhouse is located on the west shore of the Credit River just north of Lake Ontario in the town of Port Credit. MCC’s excellence on the water is demonstrated by 19 Championship Burgees at the Annual Canadian Club Championships along with several Junior World, Senior World, and Olympic Team athletes who have represented Canada at the highest level. Most recently, MCC’s Katie Vincent won a gold and bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. 

The Mississauga Canoe Club is a vibrant community hub dedicated to promoting paddling sports and fostering a love for the outdoors. Our summer camps provide an exciting and educational experience for children aged 7-12, focusing on canoeing, kayaking, water safety, and environmental stewardship.

Position: Lunch Program Coordinator

Location: Mississauga Canoe Club, Mississauga, ON
Employment Type: Seasonal (Summer Camp)
Start Date: June 25, 2025
End Date: August 22, 2025

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM + grocery shopping

The Mississauga Canoe Club offers an engaging and dynamic summer camp experience for kids aged 7-12. Our camp provides various water-based and on-land activities that promote fitness, teamwork, and fun. We are currently seeking a friendly and reliable Lunch Program Coordinator to prepare and serve breakfast for our athletes and hot lunches for our campers.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve daily hot lunches in accordance with the camp’s menu and dietary guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area.
  • Manage inventory and ensure all supplies are stocked. This includes grocery shopping. 
  • Handle cash and transactions efficiently.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe food preparation environment.
  • Communicate with parents weekly regarding the lunch option and answer any questions or concerns they may have. 
  • Interact positively with campers and staff, providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the camp coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in food preparation or working in a kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
  • Must have a Food Handler Certification or be willing to obtain one before the start date.
  • Valid Driver’s Liscense and access to vehicle preferred.
