Organizations enter teams of 18 to 22 people. A dragon boat holds up to 20 people but may be raced with fewer. You may also want to have spares so you can switch during the day of races. Mixed teams must have a minimum of eight female paddlers. Each team will participate in two heats and one ‘final’. Medals will be awarded for each final and team pictures will be taken.
Back by popular demand – Industry Cup Races! These races are designed to increase competition among teams of a similar industry or community group. Industry races will be run when three or more teams register within a specific industry or group. The event will start at 7:15 a.m. with team registration followed by the Team Captains Meeting at 7:45 a.m. Races will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will run until approximately 3:30 p.m.
Merchant vendors will be available throughout the day. The classic rock band “Something’s Always Flying” also returns for a second year bringing the best in classic rock! Be sure to plan your post race day celebration over a “Glory Days” Beer and enjoy the music! Music and Beer Garden will run until 5:30 PM.
